56037 Tamiya – 1/16 RC Japan Ground Self Defense Force Type 10 Tank Full Option Kit W/Control Unit

This is the newest kit release in the 1/16 R/C tank series. It recreates the rn Japanese Type 10 Tank, which is also available as a 1/35 scale model kit. The rn Type 10, of course, is the high-tech modern addition to the Japan Ground Self rn Defense Force (JGSDF), and comes loaded with state-of-the-art features such rn as a newly-designed 120mm smooth-bore main gun, and modular armor. It was built rn to a relatively small and lightweight design for suitability of use in the mountainous rn Japanese archipelago, and offers excellent speed and maneuverability. Perhaps rn most importantly, it was also designed to be compatible with the modern C4I rn communications network system. Deployment started in 2012 and continues apace rn as the Type 10 looks set to be a key element of Japanese ground defense armor.

Realistic Mobility

Rear-mounted pre-assembled gearbox features twin Torque-Tuned Type 540 motors rn for plenty of power. Power transmission mechanics follow those on a full-size rn tank: one motor controls forward/reverse; the other controls right and left rn track speed, allowing a realistic range of turns, plus pivoting.

Turret & Main Gun

Turret rotation is accompanied by realistic sounds, and its speed can be controlled rn via transmitter. When turret is rotated with gun lowered, gun elevation servo rn automatically raises the barrel to clear hull rear, then returns to original rn position. When firing, the main gun roars and muzzle flashes thanks to an orange rn LED in the barrel. Gun barrel recoils after firing via turret interior gearbox, rn and vehicle kickback is also recreated by drive gearbox. After firing, gun automatically rn goes to loading position then returns to previous firing angle.

About the Type 10 Tank

Officially approved in 2010, the Type 10 reflects the latest military technology rn and the needs of the modern Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF). This state-of-the-art rn vehicle features a L/44 120mm smoothbore main gun that possesses stabilizers, rn and an automatic target tracking system that functions with tremendous accuracy rn even when the Type 10 is on the move. Compatibility with the C4I (command, control, rn communications, computers, and intelligence) system ensures units operate in rn harmony. A 1,200hp diesel engine and continuously variable transmission secure rn impressive mobility in conjunction with the hydraulic semi-active suspension. rn Modular armor sections on the hull and turret provide top level protection, rn and can be removed to allow swift transportation of the Type 10. Deployment rn commenced in 2012, with units undertaking training exercises as the Japan Ground rn Self Defense Force looked to phase in the Type 10, in place of the Type 74.
